THE THEATRE OF TADEUSZ KANTOR

Ed. with Kathleen Cioffi, forthcoming

Tadeusz Kantor is currently considered one of the most important theatre artists of the twentieth century. His theories and aesthetics have influenced nearly all major figures of modern theatre, including Reza Abdoh, Robert Wilson, Frank Castorf, Richard Foreman, Moisés Kaufman, the Quay Brothers, and many others. In light of Hans-Thies Lehmann’s book on postdramatic theatre, which was translated in 2006 from German, a new and updated anthology of essays on Kantor is much needed, considering that Lehmann used Kantor as the foremost example of postdramatic theatre.
